John D. Appel
John D. AppelCo-Owner
John started as a gardener in 1966 to 1972 by working with his father at Lloyd Corporation planting annuals and manicuring all their properties. John learned the art of gardening to create a timeless atmosphere for both public and private properties by working along his Father. He went out on his own just after graduating high school and got his start by advertising on bus benches throughout Portland and Lake Oswego. With this method of advertising he quickly got recognized by the prestigious families in the Portland Metro area. John became a Landscape Contractor in 1976. John has always adhered to the saying of the Dutch touch and doing your best by giving the customer more than they asked for. The referrals were earned tenfold and John has been in the business for over 40 years. Currently, John stays close to the farm in Woodburn where the Dutchman Nursery and Pac Green reside on his property.
